HAAS CNC Machine Monitoring & OEE Dashboard
The Problem
A precision machining operation had no visibility into actual machine utilization, cycle time consistency, or fault patterns. Downtime was tracked on a whiteboard. OEE numbers were estimated.
The Approach
Deployed MTConnect data acquisition from HAAS CNC machines over Ethernet. Built a TimescaleDB historian to store time-series machine data. Developed a FastAPI backend and React management portal with role-based access — operators see fault history, managers see OEE and production totals.
The Outcome
Live OEE dashboard, real-time fault alerting, and a historical data archive enabling trend analysis and predictive maintenance triggers.
